Chemotherapy and Hair Loss
There are many people in this world who have the problem of cancer. Cancer is really a severe disease and requires extensive treatment. Chemotherapy is one of the techniques, which is used to treat cancer. There is no doubt that although cancer is a very common problem among people these days, yet, instances of hair loss are seen in more number. But how are chemotherapy and hair loss related to each other? The insight into this theory is explained hereunder.
Hair loss is considered to be the prime concern of most of the people. Hair is the most important part of a person’s beauty, without which it becomes very difficult for a person to live a normal life. There is always tension revolving in the mind as to how to restore the hair.
A woman is much more concerned about her hair than a man. It is very difficult for a woman to understand the fact that she would have to live without hair. It is not possible to wear hats and scarves all the time.
Hair loss and chemotherapy are related to each other. Chemotherapy is a kind of treatment which involves the use of chemical to treat certain infections and diseases like cancer. It is said that during such treatment, the problem of hair loss is severe.
As a solution to this problem, a person should put ice on the head and cover it with a shower cap, while the treatment is going on. This would enable the hair follicles to freeze, thus preventing hair loss. It is really a difficult task to put ice on the head while one is going through a painful treatment involving chemotherapy. However, the impact is really great and the hair does not even thin out. Just think that you are going through a tooth problem and have a solution on your head, rather than on your tooth.
