Children’s Hair Styles – Tips for Dry and Brittle Hair

Children are born carefree and when it’s play time – nothing bothers them. Be it torn clothes, muddy hands or messy hair. Kids don’t realise the problems that are associated with this carefree attitude, but for mother’s it can be a nightmare.

Styling and taking care of children’s hair can be a challenge. Its worse when the hair is dry, brittle and rough. What’s even worse is when hair gets tangled very fast.

If you face these problems daily with your child’s hair, read on to know some excellent hair styles which would give your kids a neat and trendy look.

Braiding: Braiding is the most popular hair style among young girls as it neatly holds their hair back. This neat hair style also prevents tangling of hair and hair damage which is caused by dust and harmful sun rays. Additionally it is quick and simple. To braid hair, divide the hair into three sections. Take the left bunch and lap it over the middle bunch so that the left bunch becomes the middle. Do the same for the right bunch and continue till you finish with the length of the hair end.

Dreadlocks: Dreadlocks don’t look very neat but actually look very cute on some children. Various different methods for creating dreadlocks are available in the market now.

Ponytails: The ever green hair style which is suitable for all face cuts and hair lengths.

Cornrows: Or cane rows is a style where hair is braided very close to the scalp. Nowadays innovative centre partings like zig zag designs being done. This easy maintenance hair style does not require much care as it does not require any combing, washing or oiling for weeks.

Twists: A couple of twists (twist hair and hold with clips or rubber bands) which are held back with decorative accessories is an alternative to braiding.

Crops: Cropped hair styles have been in for quiet some time now.

Hair accessories like colourful rubber bands, beads, barrettes, head bands and clips look very cute on children’s hair. So no matter which hair style you choose for your children, remember to add some accessories.
