Danger of Shampoo Sulfates
Proper care of the hair is very essential to have the good quality of hair. There are many kinds of hair care products available in the market these days, depending upon the texture and quality of hair. The most common hair care product is the shampoo. Shampoos are available in various types. People are often seen choosing any kind of shampoo for their hair. But, this is not what should be done. Choice of the shampoo should be made according to the type of hair.
People with dry hair should choose shampoo for dry hair; people with oily hair should shampoo for oily hair; and people with normal hair should choose shampoo for normal hair.
While choosing the shampoo for your hair type, it is also recommended that one looks for the ingredients in it. Various kinds of shampoos contain various kinds of ingredients. It is now-a-days observed that many of the shampoos contain sulfates as one of its ingredients.
Sulfate is actually a product that should not be used on the hair. Most of the shampoo manufacturers are using this ingredient in their shampoos because its manufacturing cost is very less.
There are many kinds of dangers associated with shampoo sulfates. Sulfates are not good for the hair and the skin and are most commonly found in washing powders and detergents, toothpaste, floor cleaners, shampoos, baby shampoos, body gels, and in many other products that are commonly used in the household.
Washing the car with a product containing sulfates and washing the hair and the face with a product containing sulfates are entirely two different things.
Sulfates can be damaging for the immune system, and may affect the brain, eyes and the heart. Sulfates are also used in inducing mutagen in the bacteria. The development of the eye may be impaired on permanent basis due to sulfates.
Due to these harmful impacts of the sulfates on the individual’s body parts, it is recommended that one should be very careful while choosing the products such as shampoos, conditioners and other skin care products. Specific care should be taken while choosing the products for the babies.
