Effects of Bleach on Hair
Everyone wants the hair to be dressed in a proper way. Hair dressing has become a very important part of the hair styling these days, which really enhances the look and the style of an individual. Coloring the hair has become a very popular means of hair dressing these days. One of the steps of coloring the hair is to bleach the hair. Let us here discuss about the effects of bleach on hair.
Hydrogen peroxide is mixed with the bleach, which helps in opening the cuticle. The bleach thus enters into the cortex. There is a release of oxygen through the hydrogen peroxide thereafter, which makes the hair colorless. The color of the hair starts turning to a lighter shade, as the effect of bleach starts showing.
As against the target color of many kinds of hair colors available in the market, there is no such case with the bleach. Bleaching the hair would not give the result of any target color. The shade that will be obtained entirely depends on the amounts of pheomelanin and eumelanin that are present in the hair. If the color that is obtained after bleaching the hair is not of the desired shade, then an individual can go for any other hair color so as to get rid of the unwanted hair color and attain the desired hair color.
If bleaching is done in a careful manner and is done seldom, there is no risk associated with it. The harmful impact is there only when one goes for bleaching the hair again and again. Frequently bleaching the hair can result in damaging of the cuticle. There may also be breakage at the cuticle. It is also important to ensure that the bleach is not made to last on the hair for a very long time. This can be disastrous for the hair.
Thus, one should be very careful while going for hair bleaching, so that there is no damage caused to the hair.
