Foods for Healthy Hair

Nutrition plays a vital role in hair care. A balanced diet that contains natural vitamin proteins, supplements and minerals can help in the healthy growth of hair follicles. Lack of proper nutrition will lead to shedding hair follicles. Natural supplements would lead to beautiful and full bodied hair. The key to healthy hair is a balanced diet, regular exercise and proper cleansing.

Including some particular foot items in your regular diet would prevent the issue of hair fall. healthy hair needs silica, iron and calcium which are contained in abundance in green leafy vegetables, seafood, raw oats, dried fruits and juice of cherry. Consumption of fatty food increases the level of testosterone during puberty. This affects the hair follicles which face the problem of alopecia.

Anemia is also an important cause of hair loss. To prevent anemia, it is advisable to consume large portions of dry fruits, green leafy vegetables, whole grain cereals, eggs and iron-rich foods. Consumption of protein is fundamental for healthy hair. Infact hair is made up of proteins.

These proteins can be found in calves liver, wheat germs and brewers yeast. Granulated lecithin should also be consumed as it is not only rich in proteins but also contains Vitamin B in abundance.

Silica also helps in hair growth. This can be found in some shampoos and prevents hair loss, stimulate hair growth and results in sparkling, lustrous and shiny hair. This can be extracted from the outer covering of green and red peppers, cucumbers and potatoes.

Vitamin C improves the absorption of iron into the body of hair. Therefore regular diet should contain fruits like orange and lime, seeds, nuts, olive oil and avocados.

Thyroid patients may also undergo the problem of hair loss. For these people, inclusion of Vitamin A is very essential which can be found in foods like spinach, carrots, flax seeds, walnuts or pumpkins. For iodine consume cabbages, turnips, peanuts and mustard.
