A foundation that is oil based works best for people with dry skin, so as to provide the required level of moisture to the skin. For oily skin, it is advised to go for the foundation that is water based and free of oil. These are mainly in stick form or in the shape of cake.
For people with normal skin, any kind of foundation can be chosen. A thin foundation in liquid form goes well for young and fine skin. People with old age can use two coats of light liquid foundation. In such a case, it is advised to avoid the use of heavy foundation as it may accentuate the creases and lines on the skin.
