Hair Color - Hair Coloring Secrets

November 28, 2008

Coloring of hair is now-a-days considered as a very important hair dressing tool. Hair coloring has become very common and is the best style, giving you a graceful look. It entirely changes your look and makes you more confident. Before going for a hair color, it is very important to know the hair coloring secrets.

Hair color is of two types, viz permanent and semi permanent.

Permanent hair color

Permanent hair color is mixed with hydrogen peroxide so as to lift the hair color. Peroxide helps to open the cuticle so that an effective color is formed. The level of peroxide should be higher to get fast and lighter results.

Semi permanent hair color

Semi permanent hair colors don’t lift the color. You can vary the tone of your natural hair color to get darker shades. Semi permanent hair colors last for around 20 washes and fade away with time. In this category, there are also semi permanent vegetable colors. These colors contain vegetable extracts and natural ingredients. They work in the same way as henna works. They add enough shine to the hair and goes away after around 8 washes.

It is advised to take the help of the hair stylist regarding the hair color that would suit you. The color that would suit a person entirely depends on the natural hair color and the skin tone of a person. Normally, darker shades of hair color don’t look good on people with light skin tone.

Your hair can also get damaged, if coloring is not done in a proper manner. Expert hands are needed for the task. Any kind of mistake can be disastrous for the hair and can ruin the texture of hair. Choice of color is also a very important task. So, don’t hurry and carefully plan as to what kind of color you want and consult a hair stylist for the process to be done in a careful manner.
