Hair Loss: Don’t Rule Out A Thyroid Condition

Hair loss is considered to be the most severe problem when we talk about problems with respect to hair. Hair loss may be due to many reasons such as stress, medication, heat, improper diet and thyroid. Among all these thyroid hair loss is very severe and requires to be treated properly. It is very important to note here that the problem of hair loss due to thyroid should not be neglected at all.

It is very true that the condition of hair loss due to thyroid may not be the same as witnessed in case of male pattern hair loss; but still there would be thinning of hair gradually. Thyroid hair loss may be evident in the form of hyperthyroidism and hypothyroidism. In case of hypothyroidism, an individual might witness tiredness, dry skin, depression, constipation and would feel abnormal sensitivity to cold.

Any of these symptoms requires test of thyroid. The medicine that is prescribed in hypothyroidism is synthroid, which has hair loss as its side effect. Also, if the treatment of thyroid is not taken in a proper manner, there may be hair loss. It is very important to consult the doctor when you face the problem of hair loss due to the treatment that is being taken for thyroid.

Hair loss due to thyroid can be treated with the help of aromatherapy, ayurvedic medicines, and hair transplantation. In case of aromatherapy, essential oils are applied to the scalp, thus helping to promote hair growth. Ayurvedic medicines, such as brahmi oil and Bhingaraj oil can also be used as a treatment for hair loss.

These remedies for hair loss should be followed for at least three months top restore the hair growth. Hair transplantation is considered as the last remedy for treating hair loss due to thyroid. There is no doubt that the treatment is expensive, but it is really worth for those people who are facing severe hair loss.
