Hair Maintenance Time Line Before The Wedding Day
July 25, 2009
A great wedding hairstyle is not just a one day effort. Infact a daily maintenance and hair care routine is needed for fabulous looking hair on your wedding day. The maintenance routine includes lots of hard work, time, dedication, a good diet and lots and lots of indulging.
The most important thing to remember for healthy looking glamorous hair is by keeping it clean. Wash your hair at least twice a week with a shampoo and conditioner. Remember not to over wash the hair as shampoos and conditioners are chemically formulated. If you have to shampoo hair everyday, omit the conditioning.
The easiest and quickest way to get good looking, healthy and shiny hair is by adding some colour to it. It is advisable to seek the advice and help of a professional rather than getting it done at home. Coloring the hair would add some texture to your hair and give it thickness and shine. The colour can be further darkened using colour enhancing shampoos and conditioners.
Even a subtle tint would add some health to the hair. It is advisable to not change the colour drastically. Change the shade of hair and get used to it. If you like what you see, change it to the next shade. It is a good idea to first get semi–permanent hair colour. If you like it, get it permanently done.
For beautiful, healthy looking, glowing, shiny hair – follow this time line:
10 weeks in advance
Start eating right and start working out. It is very important for blood to get pumped and transmit oxygen to all the parts of the body. The right food and exercise would also relive you from any wedding anxiety that you may be experiencing.
6 weeks in advance
Meet a professional hair stylist. Consult the stylist and decide what look you want for your wedding day. After that start working for their hairstyle. You may need to grow your hair a little longer or even change the colour – whatever it is, it needs some planning. It is also a good idea to get a deep conditioning treatment at a professional hair salon.
3 weeks in advance
This is the time for a hair cut if you need one. After this, you are not advised to get a hair cut as the hair requires some time to settle after being cut.
2 weeks in advance
If you plan to colour your hair, this is the time. Do not colour it way in advance as it may not look very fresh on the day.
5 days in advance
Make sure you get your deep conditioning treatment.
1 day in advance
Wash and cleanse hair using a shampoo. Follow with the conditioner.
The wedding day
Only relax and feel like never before. De – stress yourself and remember all the hard work would pay off today. Your beauty and hair treatments will leave you with fabulous looking hair and skin. So get it curled, straightened, tied up, pinned or whatever – your hair would look nothing less than gorgeous.
