Hair Quiffs From The 50s – Pile It On
Hair styles of the ancient times give a splendid look at times. Quiff-like hairdos give an elegant look. These hair styles from the 50s are currently in fashion and augment the look of a person. A quiff is a hairstyle with heavily backcombed puffy crowns, with a mid-head straight tall. A quiff was introduced in 1940s, and from thereon it gained great popularity.
The hair is partially or full blown. The quiffs at the front are sometimes combined with hair knots at the back. It is actually not necessary to have long hair to make a quiff. A quiff can be made with short hair by popping a pin-on pony tail at the back of the head for the straight bottom flow. Wash your hair one day before you want to wear a quiff. The hair should not be too slippery. Following are some of the points to be kept in mind while making a quiff.
• Get your hair straight.
• Divide your hair into two equal parts, front and back. Just add more or less hair in the front depending on the height you want to give to a quiff.
• Hold the back section of the hair with a clip.
• Divide the top section into various parts. Back comb each section and place each one on the top of the other.
• Mist the hair with a hairspray to give a firm holding.
• Pin the top section of the hair in such a way that it has height and lifts your hair style.
• Now unclip the back section and tie it into a pony tail.
• Style your pony in such a way that the base rests at the middle of the back of your head.
• Alternatively you can also tie the back hair into a bun or a twist to give a formal look. Pin it up nicely above the neck.
A quiff is considered as a classy hairstyle of the 50s and the best thing is that it never goes out of fashion.
