Homemade Summer Hair Highlights

Olive oil
There is no doubt that olive oil helps a great deal in nourishing the hair. However, this is an unknown fact that one can also use olive oil to color the hair. Apart from deep conditioning of the hair, olive oil also helps in adding some color to the strands to give a bleaching effect. A few spoons of olive oil are poured on the desired areas of the hair and massaged properly. Let it stay on the hair for around an hour or so and expose the hair to the sun’s rays. After that the hair is rinsed out with a shampoo. One would be surprised to see highlights in the hair after the hair wash.
Honey
Honey can be also used to create summer highlights. After washing the hair properly, apply honey on the hair in appropriate amount. Let it stay on the hair for around two hours and expose the hair to the sun’s rays. Honey has great conditioning features, and therefore the harmful impact of the sun’s rays would be combated with the help of the nourishing features of honey. Thereafter, the hair is washed twice to get rid of the honey from the hair effectively. A bleaching effect is thus created on the hair.
Beer
Beer can also be used to create stylish summer hair highlights. Take four beer bottles and empty them in a bowl. The hair are then dipped into the bowl and exposed to the sun for around an hour or so. Thereafter, rinse the hair with cold water to get colorful hair strands. A natural lightening effect is created.
