How To Get Rid of Head Lice and Nits
A louse in the hair is a great problem, and is normally found in children of young age. The presence of lice in the hair causes a lot of irritation and itching in the scalp. Head to head contact with the already infected individual is the main cause of lice in the hair. Dirt and untidiness also gives room for lice to grow in the hair. One single louse can give birth to many other lice in the hair. Children have various kinds of friends in the school, and they are often in close contact with each other. Even if one child has very clean and healthy hair, the contact with the other child having lice in the hair would transfer them to his hair too.
Thus, lice can be found in any kind of hair whether they are clean or untidy, short or long, and curly or straight. In order to get rid of the irritation and itching in the scalp, it is very important to get rid of the lice from the hair.
One way to get rid of the lice is to wash the hair and apply conditioner that hinders the growth of lice in the hair. Thereafter, separate the hair into various sections and run a very fine toothed comb through each hair section to get rid of the lice and the egg shells.
Electric comb also helps to get rid of the lice in the hair. However, it is effective for larger lice and not for the recently hatched lice.
The silicone element in the chemical solutions used to treat lice is also effective.
Some anti lice shampoos are also available in the market that can help in removing the lice from the hair.
One can also go for any chemical treatment to remove the lice from the hair. The procedure for each chemical treatment may differ from one another. Some may even require the chemical solution to be left in the hair overnight.
The common procedure in all the treatments is to wash and comb the hair after applying the chemical solution. Thereafter a fine toothed comb is run in the hair to remove the lice.

read your story on head lice today’s and wanted to share my experiences with you. There are many uncomfortable talks that we must have with our children and our peers as responsible adults. Yes I agree that you do not want to single out a child and cause them embarrassment or shame, but the alternative is to keep it so confidential and not share the information with the person(s) giving you the lice. Example, from my life experience, my daughter Sofia had it, I was petrified. We used nix twice on her, two months later she got it again, I went back and forth like this for about one year, not telling because I was embarrassed and did not want to “stigmatization” my child or her friends. So out of frustration and tired of putting these chemicals on my daughter, I called a company called head lice heroes. They cost of the service was not cheap about $300 but the information and peace of mind was priceless. They are the ones that convinced me to retrace my steps prior to each out break and they are the ones that recommended, insisted that I contact friends and family I had been in close contact with prior to the infestation. Just imagine if I have cancer and am dying, should I hide that from my kids. It’s only lice thank god!
