How to Make Your Own Coontails
Among various kinds of girlish hair styles, coontails is one of them. Coontails is a kind of hair style technique that allows the creation of horizontal stripes with the hair color.
Girls having scene hair styles very well support the coontails. One can have scene coontails of various colors such as blonde and blue, blonde and red, blonde and pink, blonde and black, and any other hair color combination that may be desired by an individual. It is very easy to style the hair in coontails.
The things that are required to achieve this hair style are bleach powder, peroxide, another hair color (in case blonde as base color), hair straightener, brush and scotch tape. Bleach is chosen in case the base color of the hair is dark.
The hair section on which an individual wishes to have coontails should be separated from the rest of the hair. The remaining hair are secured with the help of pins in such a way that they do not come in the way of the hair that are being styled in the form of coontails. Use the hair straightener to straighten the hair, in case the hair are not straight.
Use the scotch tape for covering both the sides of hair section that has been selected for coontails. The selected hair are wrapped with the scotch tape. Another portion of scotch tape is taken and wrapped around the lower section. The same procedure is repeated with the entire hair section, ensuring that an equal amount of distance is maintained between each tape.
Thereafter, the hair color is taken and the mix is prepared as per the directions given on the kit. The hair color is then applied on the portions of the hair that are non-taped, with the help of hair brush. While applying the hair color, the tape’s end is held with the help of the other hand to make sure that the hair color does not enter inside the tape.
After waiting for the time given on the hair color kit, rinse the hair. The scotch tapes are then removed from the hair. Thereafter, the hair is washed with the shampoo and the conditioner. After the hair gets dry, one would see the revealing coontails.
