Hair loss is a problem of great concern. There is no doubt that everyone faces this problem at some or the other time in their life. There may be various reasons for hair loss, such as stress, use of heat generating hair styling equipments, exposure to sunlight, intake of certain medicines, wrong use of hair care products, use of chemicals on the hair etc. There is also a relationship between hair loss and illness. Any kind of prolonged illness can also be one of the major reasons for hair loss.
One of the most common illnesses that cause hair loss is cancer. Cancer is a severe disease and it affects the health of an individual very badly. The treatment that is used to cure cancer is chemotherapy, which is very long treatment. The side effects of this treatment may also be hair loss. Apart from cancer, there are many other kinds of illnesses that cause hair loss.
In some cases, the impact may be less severe, while in others one may have to face severe hair loss. The condition of temporary hair loss is over when an individual recovers back from his illness. However, in some cases, the result may be quite devastating, thus resulting in tremendous hair loss.
Some of the types of illnesses that may result in hair loss are listed below:

There may also be cases, in which the pattern of hair loss may be very severe, resulting into complete baldness. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for the hair to grow back.
Lupus – Such a kind of disease attacks the joints, skin and the muscles. The tissues of the body get damaged, thus resulting into temporary hair loss.
Syphilis – This disease is caused due to sexual interaction as a result of some bacterial infection. This disease may also lead to the problem of hair loss.
Thyroid – Thyroid is also a disease which may result into hair loss. Some people may be having the problems of low thyroid, while others may be facing problems with respect to high thyroid levels. In both the cases, hair loss may be one of the side effects.
