Oiling for Healthy Hair

Even though you have naturally looking beautiful hair, it is very important to regularly oil them. Massaging beneficial oils is the key to healthy looking hair. Hair oils work like nutrition for hair and help prevent problems like hair loss, dandruff, dry, rough, dull and damaged hair.

Different types of oils are available in the market and have different qualities. These are:

Jojoba Oil: works as a moisturizer for dry hair and de-tangler before shampooing of hair.

Olive Oil: nourishes and strengthens hair which provide greater elasticity and healthy looking hair.

Coconut Oil: acts as a lubricator of hair and contains potassium, iron, magnesium and calcium.

Rosemary Herbal Oil: helps prevent and cure flaky dandruff.

Many different companies sell oils nowadays. It is advised to check the company’s reputation before buying their products as many duplicates are also being sold in the market.

For lustrous and healthy hair, massage hair oil twice a week. Massage the scalp with your chosen oil and leave it overnight. For a deep conditioning treatment at home, massage hair oil on scalp and wrap hair with a warm towel for 30 minutes.

Massaging oil in hair also increases blood circulation and protects it from the harmful rays of the sun. For break free hair, oil it regularly. Oiling hair also works well as a stress buster and a great moisturizer for hair. Regularly oiling would also result in longer hair and less split ends.

Oiling, when done properly would optimise its effect. It is best to warm oil and apply it by make partitions in the hair. Make as many partitions you can and then evenly apply oil on the scalp. Along with oiling, it is important to massage so that the oil reaches deep down as well.

It is advisable to massage for at least 10 – 15 minutes once the oil has been applied. For best results, wash hair after leaving the oil for a minimum of 7 hours.
