Oily Hair Care – Home Remedy for Oily Hair
Everyone has different types of hair. Some have dry hair, some have oily hair, while others have normal hair. Here we are going to throw light on oily hair and the remedies to treat oily hair.
There may be various reasons for oily hair. Hair may become oily due to imbalance in the hormones, intake of excessive fatty and oily foods, or washing the hair frequently. Hormonal imbalances may result in the overproduction of sebum, thus causing the hair to become oily.
Some people may also have scalps having oil glands that are larger than the normal ones. This may also cause the hair to become oily. Excessive hot weather and humid weather may also be the factors causing oily hair. Stress is one of the factors leading to oily hair. Sweating and continuously running the hands in the hair may also cause hair to go oily.
Some of the effective home remedies for oily hair are listed below.
Initially, it is recommended to use a shampoo that is gentle and not aggressive. Go for a shampoo that gives volume to the hair. Perming done in a light manner can control the release of the sebum and would help in lifting the roots.
Go for a change in the diet. Reduce the intake of fatty and oily foods, and incorporate fruits and fresh vegetables in your diet.
Take some mint and boil it in a glass of water. After letting it boil for around fifteen minutes, the solution is strained and mixed with the shampoo. Wash the hair with this mint mixed shampoo to get rid of excessive oil from the hair.
Make sure that you don’t comb or brush the hair too frequently.
Also, it is necessary to note that one should not wash the hair too often and make use of oil free shampoos, to prevent any excessive gathering of oil on the scalp.
