Products That Help in Reducing Oil on Hair
If you or someone you know are suffering from the problem of oily hair, read on. This article puts together a list of things that would help reduce the level of sebum production by hair follicles.
Sebum is the oily matter in the hair follicles that is secreted by sebaceous glands. Sebum also helps in lubricating the hair and skin. It is a good idea to check the labels of the shampoos, conditioners, hair styling products, mousse, gels, oils, sprays and look out for products that are listed below:
Jojoba Oil: Jojoba oil contains properties that are found in sebum. This oil helps in reducing the level of dryness that is caused by harsh products by restoring the lost sebum.
Rosemary oil: Rosemary oil works great as a scalp cleaner and hair root stimulator.
Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil is a soft and gentle oil that helps to remove excess oil. This oil also helps to cure dandruff and other bacteria and infections.
Sage: Sage helps reduce the oil deposits that make hair shafts thicker.
Eucalyptus: Eucalyptus helps in balancing and regulating the sebum levels. It also helps in reducing inflamed skin.
Chamomile: Chamomile helps in enhancing hair shine and strength. If you have coloured your hair or have gotten in highlighted, usage of products with chamomile would help enhance the colour.
Other ingredients that help in controlling the oil production on the hair are egg whites, aloe vera, sorbitol, menthol, citric acid, kaolin, starch and citrus.
Finally it is important, that the key to oil free and grease free hair is that you keep the hair clean by following a routine cleaning process. The cleaning process includes washing the hair with a mild shampoo and then conditioning it. It is recommended to look for shampoos and conditioners which contain compounds of the above mentioned oils.
