Remedies To Cure Head Lice
The scientific term for lice on head is ectoparasites. Head lice are particularly common during the rainy season. This infection can make hair weak resulting in breakage of hair. In few extreme cases, infection can also cause fever.
Head lice also grow by the day and so it is best to get rid of it as soon as possible. Read on to know some traditional home remedies to cure the infection of head lice.
Apply the juice of an onion on the scalp. Massage slowly so that the juice reaches the roots of the hair. This juice should be left on the head for 3 – 4 hours. The pungent sulphur substance of the onion will kill the parasites.
Carefully and properly wash hair with an anti – lice shampoo to remove dead lice. This treatment would have to be carried out for at least 3 – 4 days so that the lice eggs are also removed.
Grind a raw custard apple with its seeds in a grinder machine. Store the powder and apply it on the scalp every night before going to bed. Cover the scalp with a cloth and in the morning rinse it with warm water. Continue for 4 days. A paste of custard apple mixed with water works very effectively as well. The paste should be left on the scalp overnight and washed in the morning.
Take 10 teaspoons of water and 3 teaspoons of vinegar and apply it on the scalp using a cotton ball. Leave the mixture overnight with the head covered with a cloth. By doing this twice a week, it will remove all lice and even prevent dandruff.
Fresh coconut oil could be mixed with camphor to apply on the scalp every night. Wash hair in morning and continue for five days. Apply chopped apple pieces on the scalp and leave it on for 30 minutes. Rinse in morning using an anti – lice shampoo.
