Slow Growing Hair and the Hair Growth Cycle
Long and beautiful hair is the desire of most of the women. Some people have very long hair, while others have short hair. Those who are willing to have long hair really get disturbed by the fact of slow hair growth process. They are not able to understand the reason behind the slow growth of hair.
In order to understand the reason behind the slow hair growth process, it is very important to understand about the hair growth cycle. There are three different stages of the hair growth cycle, viz anagen, catagen and telogen.
The first phase, i.e. the anagen phase, lasts for around two to six years. In this phase, the hair grows from the scalp in a very active manner. If the hair does not grow long in this phase, it implies a short anagen phase of around only two to three years. It is very important to go for regular trimming of the hair in this case, so that the anagen phase continues in a healthy manner.
The second phase, i.e. the catagen phase, is the stage of transition. The duration of this phase is around two to three weeks. In this phase the hair growth process stops, where a certain portion of the hair would start dying.
The final stage is the telogen phase, where the old hair gives space to the new hair to grow, thus bringing back the anagen phase. The old hair would be removed and the new hair would grow, thus making the whole cycle start again.
Thus, after analyzing all the three phases of hair growth process, it would be easier for an individual to understand the reason behind the slow hair growth process. Taking care of the hair in the first phase is very important, so that the hair grows in a healthy manner.
Going for regular trimming of the hair and providing proper nourishment and stimulation to the hair is very important to ensure the healthy growth of hair. It is also important for an individual to take proper diet, which has plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, so that the hair growth process is enhanced.
