Swimming and Hair Care
Hair care is very important so as to enhance your beauty and looks. Our hair is exposed to various things like wind, water, dust etc. Many people go for swimming during summers. Our hair gets bad after swimming. Salt and chlorine are present in sea water. The presence of these substances is not at all good for hair. They spoil the quality of hair, thus making them dry and coarse. These elements can also make a cast of green color on the scalp, which is very harmful. So, utmost care should be taken care of the hair if you go for swimming regularly.
It is advised to use a shampoo containing the chemical EDTA. It helps in removing all the chlorine from the hair, thus preventing the formation of a green color substance on the scalp.
Make use of extensive conditioners to condition your hair. Conditioning is very important to restore the shine of your hair.
Sun bathers need to be very careful. Sunlight causes damage to hair by causing a chemical reaction called as oxidation. This results in dull and brittle hair. Creams, leave in conditioners, shine enhancers, and sunscreens can act as a guard against the harmful ultra violet rays and scorching heat of the sun.
Avoid highlighting your hair. Various chemicals are present in hair highlighting products. These chemicals are harmful for hair. Thus, exposure to chlorine and salt while swimming causes more harm to the highlighted hair.
Hair massage also provides enough moisture required to the hair. Have a proper hair massage to have effective results. Hair massage helps to restore the moisture content and provides enough nourishment to the hair.
Apart from caring about your hair, it is also important to take care of your whole body. Your entire body is also exposed to sea water after a swim. So, provide enough moisture to your skin, by applying moisturizer, after a shower.
