Symptoms of Hair Loss In Women
Hair loss is considered to be a serious problem in case of women and require great attention. Before going for the treatment with respect to hair loss, it is very important to determine the symptoms and causes for the same. The symptoms of hair loss may vary depending on the diet of an individual. The commonly observed symptoms of hair loss are discussed hereunder.
Women may see generalized thinning of hair on their head. This symptom is normally witnessed after 3-4 months of delivery of a baby. The major reason behind this symptom of hair loss is hormonal changes.
A woman witnesses hormonal changes during pregnancy and after delivery. This might be one of the reasons behind the gradual thinning of hair.
There may be gradual thinning of hair along with dry hair. The under active thyroid gland may be the major cause behind this symptom.
Some women may also have hair loss due to heavy periods.
At times, there might be excessive shedding of the hair from the head. However, complete baldness is not there. Such a situation may occur due to severe illnesses and drugs, anemia, weight loss, and stress.
There may also be patches of complete hair loss in some cases. Very short hair are sometimes visible. The reason behind this symptom of hair loss is alopecia areata.
Some women may face symptoms of itchy scalp because of dandruff.
It may sometimes happen that a woman may have to face the problem of hair loss due to any scalp injury, x ray, high fever, liver disease, a prolonged illness, death of a closed one etc. Any kind of shock or major mis-happening may also result in hair loss.
If the hair loss is a temporary phase, the hair will grow again after the phase passes. However, if it is permanent hair loss, it is required to consult a doctor to ask for the remedy for the same. In some cases, one may have to go for hair transplantation to get rid of the problem.
