Tips for Blow – Drying Hair at Home
Even though blow drying may seem like a simple task, in reality it is not. Care needs to be taken of every small lock in order to get the perfect salon look. Blow drying to get perfect, sleep straight hair can be done at home but would require lot of patience.
Care should be taken to not allow excess heat on your scalp and hair as it might burn and damage the hair permanently. Read the step by step guide to learn a fast and effective way to blow drying hair.
Step 1: Shampoo and condition hair. Numerous shampoos are available that are formulated to smoothen and straighten hair. Towel dry the hair.
Step 2: De – tangle hair using a de – tangler or a wide toothed comb.
Step 3: It is advised to use a heat protection spray especially on the hair ends, which would prevent any damage that would have occurred due to heat.
Step 4: Apply some straightening mousse or balm evenly.
Step 5: Separate hair in different sections and use clutches to hold these separate sections.
Step 6: Make sure that the blow dryer has a nozzle attached. Use the blow dryer to smoothen and dry each section of hair separately. Use the brush as a gripping tool and direct the hot air towards the brush. Carefully unwind each section and repeat the process. It is advisable to work from back to front and from underneath to the upper layers of hair.
Step 7: If you encounter any frizzy bits, use the hair dryer to hold them down. Be careful to not over do it is very easy to burn hair. Also the nozzle should be pointed down to avoid frizzy hair. Various anti – frizz hair serums are also available nowadays.
Step 8: For rolled in or rolled out look, simply bend the hair around the hair brush and use the hair dryer to curl them. For the straight sleek look, insert the hair brush underneath the hair and apply the heat against the brush.
Step 9: The final finishing touch to your hair can be given by a large paddle brush. Apply little alcohol free hair spray to protect the hair from frizzing.
