Tips for Chemically Processed Hair
If you are bored of your current hair colour and want to change it, read further. This article puts together some pointers and tips which you should remember before colouring your hair.
It is advisable to get your hair coloured by a professional stylist and further enhance it with these tips.
* Permanently Colored Hair: If your hair is already coloured and you are considering re – colouring it, you should first ask yourself why you are doing so. Is it to lighten the hair or brighten the colour of the hair? If you want to only brighten the colour, it is not necessary to use permanent colours. Instead you can also opt for semi permanent colours.
* Highlighted Hair: Highlighted hair is unevenly coloured with some strands brighter than the rest. When getting highlights, ask the stylist to use colour and not bleach to lighten the hair. This will not dry the hair. Also colour can lighten the hair to upto four shades.
* Chemically Straightened Hair: When straightening hair, remember that is it one of the most of the most insensitive thing for the hair. Make sure the stylist straightens the new hair to the roots so that the new hair would grow straight.
* Bleached Hair: When bleaching hair, it is a good idea to get it done by a professional. If you plan to do it at home, do it with the utmost care as failing to do so would lead hair fall. Bleached hair needs to be toned with neutral pigments, so it is best to get it done professionally.
* Permanently Waved Hair: A lot of care needs to be taken when perming hair that has already been permed, coloured or bleached. It is most advisable to get a strand test first before permanently getting hair permed. The process of acid waving can also be considered as it gives the same results as normal perming without the use of ammonia. Instead of ammonia, heat is used to open the cuticle.
