Tips for Oily Hair
Oily hair does not look very great and tends to sometimes develop an unpleasant smell. The cause of this is in most cases either hereditary or hormonal imbalance.
There are cases in which using the wrong type of products or using too much of chemically formulated products over a period of time can result in oily hair. Ladies with polycystic ovaries could also experience oily hair and scalp. Finally the last cause of oily hair could be dandruff, acne or oily skin. Young teenagers often experience excessive oil in the hair due to hormonal changes happening in their body systems. Some pregnant ladies also suffer from oily hair, simply due to hormonal changes.
Other than hiding your dirty oily hair with scarves, caps and hats, try to get rid of them. Treat this as a disease and get medication and treatment for oily hair as soon as possible. There is a whole range of products that are available in the market to get rid of the oily hair problem. These products contain composites that reduce the level of sebum in the hair follicles. Many of these products also contain antiseptic properties that helps get rid of itchiness as well.
Mild shampoos which don’t contain any detergents like laureth sulphate also help get ride of the problem of oily hair. Harsh shampoos would dry the scalp, increase the itchiness and increase the production of sebum leading to more oil production. If you have dry hair, condition your hair with a mild conditioner after shampooing. Apply the conditioner from the hair ends to the top.
After the shampooing and conditioning, apply hair care products on the hair. Use products which contain alcohol, glycerine, silicone, etc. as they would help transfer excess oils from scalp to the hair giving it a different shine. Also if you have oily hair, it is recommended to get a hair style that is easy manageable.
