Tips for Stronger Nails
Apart from taking care of the beauty of the skin, it is also important that one takes proper care of the nails, so that they remain healthy and strong. If the condition of the nails is not good, it implies that there is some problem with the health of an individual. Extremely weak and brittle nails may imply severe health related problems. It is very important for an individual to take care of the nails from time to time so that there is no risk of any kind of ingrown nails or fungal infections. Let us here discuss some of the ways to have healthy and strong nails, apart from going for regular manicure sessions.
First of all, it is very important that the hands and the nails are properly hydrated. This can be done by applying petroleum jelly around the cuticles and the nails everyday, before sleeping at night. Another way to moisturize the hands is to apply olive oil in place of petroleum jelly.
It is further recommended to wear gloves while doing household work. When a person does household work, such as washing clothes and dishes, or cleaning the floor, the nails may get damaged at times. Gloves play a great role in protecting the nails from such damage, thus keeping them clean. It is also recommended to apply any kind of hand cream before wearing the gloves in the hands.
Zinc is very important to make the nails strong. Therefore, an individual should include boiled eggs and milk in the diet to make the nails strong and to get rid of any kind of white spots, if any, on the nails.
Filing the nails in a proper manner is also very important to keep the nails strong and healthy. Make sure to file the nails in only one direction. Remember not to file the nails immediately after bath, as they may tend to break.
It is also important to take care of the nails of the feet by wearing the right kind of socks and shoes.
