Tips for Short Hair for Summer

In the summer time when the mercury is rising, it becomes important for us to take additional care of our tresses. Most youngsters and women opt for shorter hairstyles during the season to escape the heat and remain fresh. Shorter hairstyles are easy to manage and keep you cool. You can opt for various layered or non layered hairstyles for the summer season that can be prepped with a wide range of colors and styling techniques to make you look all the more gorgeous. There are several tips for short hair for summer that will enable you to take care of your tresses and beat the heat with your gorgeous hairdo.

Tips for short hair for summer:

Get help from sunscreen: Since most short hairstyles do not offer protection from the torturous rays of the sun, it is recommended that you apply adequate amount of sunscreen on your face as well as neck to escape from the worries of getting sunburn.

Say no to hot styling products: Avoid using to many hot styling products such as hair driers, hot rollers, straighteners and curling irons to tame your tresses. Heat tends to damage the hair and robs it of its natural moisture. During the summer months, it is already to hot that your hair will dry on its own.

Go shorter by the day: If you avoid wearing very short tresses, you must reconsider your decision of opting for a short haircut. You can however, opt for ponytails, buns and pin-up hairdos to escape the heat.

Condition your hair: After shampooing your hair, you must condition it with a good leave-in conditioner for best results. This helps retain the moisture balance preventing your hair from excessive damage from heat.

Cover your hair: Whenever you step outdoors, you must cover your hair with a scarf, hat or cap in order to prevent it from damage from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun.

Consult a good hairstylist: You must consult a professional hairstylist prior to getting a short haircut as he/she will help you decide which hairstyle will be best suited for you depending upon various factors such as your facial cut, features, hair type and lifestyle.

The summer season might bring in visions of vibrant colors and wispy hair dancing to the wind but the sweltering heat can steal the hair of its moisture and make it brittle, frizzy and lifeless. Most tips for short hairstyles suggest that you take adequate care of your tresses and drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water on a daily basis and eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies.
